Your personal Webspace
Personal Webspace | Make your page | Publicize | RESOURCES | Functions | Storage and transfer Here's a list of resources to help you make your own Web pages and put them on the Sympatico Webspace server. SoftwareSoftware for creating Web pages ranges from simple text editors, which require you to know HTML (HyperText Markup Language), to HTML convertors, to WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) page generators that hide the HTML from you, to FTP (File Transfer Protocol) uploading software.
If you don't have time, or don't want to learn how to make Web material, you could hire someone to create your Web pages for you. Check your local yellow pages under "Internet" for developers, or look up a local computer users' group. Start with this source on the Web: Books and on-line reference There are many good books which can help you learn how to create your own Web pages, or provide reference. But books can become outdated quickly. Check your library before you buy, and watch the publication date. Web-based instructional material is more likely to be up to date (but there's no guarantee!).
