These instructions assume you have a suitable comfort level with choosing and using software to make a Web page and that you understand or have experience with Steps 1 through 3 of Putting up your page. Everyone wants to know how many other Internet surfers have seen their Web page. A page hit is each instance of anyone (including yourself) visiting your Web page; when someone sees your page, they are hitting your Web page. A page hit counter is a small program which displays the number of hits the page has received.

Select your Sympatico service provider from the pull-down menu below for details about using counters.

You will have to copy and paste the HTML code for the counter into your Web page editor. If you are using Composer, follow these instructions to paste the code.

1. In Composer, click Insert, then click HTML Tag.
2. Type or paste the HTML code into the window, then click OK. The counter will not work properly until you upload the page.
