How do I check if I have sufficient memory?

First, check the minimum requirements to install and run the Sympatico essential software on your computer.

To check how much memory you have available with:

Windows XP/Me/98/95
  • Click Start, then click Settings, then Control Panel.
  • Double-click System.
  • Click the Performance tab (in Windows XP, the General tab).
  • The total memory (RAM) available in your computer will be displayed.
Macintosh
  • In the Finder, click the Apple menu.
  • Click About this Mac (or About this Macintosh).
  • The total memory (RAM) available in your computer will be displayed.
Windows 3.1
  • Double-click the Main program group.
  • Double-click the MS-DOS Prompt.
  • At the DOS prompt, type mem.
  • The total memory (RAM) available in your computer will be displayed under the Free column.
