]
Netscape Mail | Netscape News | The Toolbar Configuring Netscape Navigator 3 for Windows 95/98 and 3.11 to start helper applications automatically
1. Start Netscape Navigator. Click Options, then click General Preferences. 2. Click the Helpers tab. 3. In the File type list, click the file type of the file you want to be opened automatically. If the desired file type is not in the File type list, you will have to add it yourself. Some common file types are listed in the table below.
4. Select Launch the Application. 5. Click Browse, then select the application from the Select an Appropriate Viewer box that appears. This tells Netscape Navigator to open the file with the selected application. If you do not know where the application is on the hard drive, you can search for it. 6. Click OK. 7. Thereafter, when you download a file, the helper application you selected will work automatically.
