Netscape Messenger is the e-mail and newsgroup reader component of Netscape Communicator. You can use it to send, receive and manage all your e-mail messages, as well as to read and post to newsgroups.
There are two
ways to start Netscape Messenger. You can click the Communicator
menu, then click Messenger Mailbox, or you can click the Mailbox
icon on the Component
bar
If you open Messenger via the component bar, Messenger will start and check for new mail.
When Messenger opens, you should see a window like this:
If you have Communicator 4.7, the Messenger window will look like this:
