To view pages offline
- Click the File menu, then click Work Offline or Offline
Browsing. A check mark appears to the left of the menu command to
indicate that the Internet Explorer browser is offline. An icon also
appears in the status bar at the bottom of the window to indicate that
the Internet Explorer browser is offline:
with Windows and
with Macintosh.
- Disconnect from the Internet.
- If you click on a link that cannot be viewed offline, you will see
a message, and can choose whether to go online or stay offline.

On Windows, your History list will only show those pages that are available
offline. You can also view subscribed pages that you have marked for offline
viewing. While you are working offline, a crossed-out circle will appear
next to the pointer when you move it over a link to a page that requires
going online to view.
On Macintosh, the History list shows all pages visited, regardless of
their offline availability. Only the most recently visited pages will
be accessible offline, however. The amount of information available offline
is determined by the cache setting in Explorer's Preferences. A high number
- tens or hundreds of megabytes - will permit a large number of pages
to be accessed while offline, but will also consume this amount of disk
space.
To compose mail offline
Compose your mail as you would normally. When you send the message,
it will go into your Outbox folder and will not be sent until you go online
and click the Send/Recv button.
