Starting Up | Browsing | Going Back | Favorites Finding Stuff | Sending and Printing Pages Subscribing to Web Pages | Toolbars Configuring Internet Explorer for Macintosh to start helper applications automatically 1. Open Internet Explorer. Click Edit, then click Preferences.
2. Click the arrow next to Receiving Files so that it points down, then click File Helpers. 3. In the Description list, click the file description of the file you want to be opened automatically. If the desired file description is not listed under Application, you will have to add it yourself.
4. Click the Change button. You will see the Edit File Helper window. 5. In the Handling section, select View with Application from the pull-down menu. 6. Click Browse and select the application from the dialog box that appears. This tells Internet Explorer to open the file with the selected application. If you do not know where the application is on the hard drive, you can search for it. 7. Click OK, then click OK again to close Preferences.
