The Internet Explorer browser is a program that allows you to browse the Web, and is accompanied by one additional program: the Outlook Express program for sending e-mail and reading newsgroups. Together, these two programs are referred to as the Microsoft Internet Explorer software.

These instructions are for using Internet Explorer 5 and 6 for Windows, and Internet Explorer 4.5 and 5 for Macintosh.

Once you have installed the Sympatico software, an icon for Internet Explorer will appear on the Microsoft Windows desktop or in the Microsoft Internet Explorer folder with Macintosh.

1. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon on the Microsoft Windows desktop or in the Microsoft Internet Explorer folder with Macintosh.

In addition to these pages, you can select Contents and Index from the Help menu of Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.
