The Internet Explorer 4 browser is a program that allows you to browse the Web, and is accompanied by one additional program: the Outlook Express program for sending e-mail and reading newsgroups. Together, these two programs are referred to as the Microsoft Internet Explorer software.

Starting the Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 software

Once you have installed the Sympatico software, an icon for Internet Explorer will appear on the Microsoft Windows 95/98 desktop, in the Microsoft Internet Explorer Program group with Microsoft Windows 3.1, or in the Microsoft Internet Explorer folder with Macintosh.

To start the Internet Explorer 4 software
  1. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon on the Microsoft Windows 95/98 desktop, in the Microsoft Internet Explorer Program group with Microsoft Windows 3.1, or in the Microsoft Internet Explorer folder with Macintosh.
Getting help

In addition to these pages, you can select Contents and Index from the Help menu of Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.
