How to tell when you are entering and leaving a secure site
By default, your browser will tell you when you are entering and leaving
a secure site. Look in the security preferences of your browser to make
sure that these warnings are turned on.
- In Netscape Communicator, click the Security button, then click
Navigator. Ensure that Entering an encrypted site, Leaving
an encrypted site, and Sending unencrypted information to a site
are checked.
- In Netscape 3, click Options, then click Security Preferences.
Ensure that Entering a Secure Document Space, Leaving a Secure
Document Space, and Submitting a Form Insecurely are checked.
- In Microsoft Internet Explorer, click the View menu, then click
Internet Options, then click the Advanced tab. Scroll
down to Security, and make sure that Warn if changing between
secure and not secure mode is checked.
